My Go To Scent - YSL Black Opium Nuit Blanche Eau De Parfum

by - June 04, 2017

I haven’t been updating my blog as much over the past month, I’ve had so much going on in my personal life that I truly didn't have a minute to even think about posts. Everything’s starting to look up now and I finally can focus on posting more regularly and this time I’m trying to plan ahead instead of doing it last minute… how does that old saying go? Failure to prepare is preparing to fail? Noted.

So… today I am talking perfume. I’m not a massive perfume horder, I know what scents I like and honestly, perfumes are expensive. But I have found the one that’s so beautiful I would pay the high price tag for and buy a back up incase I ran out. YSL Black Opium Nuit Blanche to me is seriously the most intoxicating smell, one that is instantly recognisable yet still quite understated at the same time… a cult classic. I think if I had to wear 1 perfume for the rest of my life, this would be it.

First of all, the design of the perfume bottle is gorgeous. I love the black and silver glitter on the bottle teamed with the rose pink lid, it makes me feel quite luxurious when I’m using it. The top notes are Rice & Bourbon Pepper so theres an element of spice when it’s first applied, however the Orange Blossom from the middle notes does bring through a floral element which lingers on the skin. I do think that as the day wears on the base notes of Vanilla, Sandlewood & White Musk come through abit more, leaving a more of a sweet scent behind.

I think the wear time for this perfume is insane, I can still smell it on my skin nearly 10 hours later. It's the perfect night out fragrance (the name Nuit Blanche translates to “White Night” a night where women take control of Paris and make the city their own”), but I do also wear it in the day, as putting a little on can leave a subtle scent.

As I mentioned before it isn't the cheapest perfume (between £55.50 to £91 depending on size) but I do think it’s a worthwhile investment for such a beautiful and long lasting fragrance.

Are you a fan of YSL Black Opium Nuit Blanche? What are your must have perfumes?
